Who we are
NoviFS (“we”) makes the NoviFS app for macOS and runs novifs.com. For anything about your data, email info@novifs.com.
Your files stay yours
The NoviFS app reads and writes your drives on your Mac. It never sends file names, file contents or anything else about what’s on your drives to us or anyone else.
What we collect
- When you buy: your email address, name, billing country and address, and what you bought. Stripe processes the payment; we never see or store your card details.
- When you activate the app: your license key (stored only as a one-way fingerprint), an anonymous identifier for your Mac (a one-way fingerprint, not its serial number), your Mac’s name as shown in Sharing settings, the NoviFS version, and when it was activated and last checked in. This is how a license knows which Macs it’s on.
- When you create an account: your email address and a password. Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash by our sign-in provider (Supabase); nobody, including us, can read them.
- When you visit the website: if you allow it (or outside Europe, by default), the Meta Pixel sets a cookie so we can see which ads bring visitors and purchases. We don’t use any other analytics or tracking. Our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security.
Why
- To deliver your license, keep it working on the right number of Macs, and help you move it.
- To answer your support emails.
- To keep the records that tax law requires.
- To measure our advertising: the Meta Pixel and Meta’s Conversions API receive the purchase amount, a hashed (scrambled) email address, and your browser’s user agent and IP address, so Meta can match a purchase to an ad.
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t send marketing emails unless you ask for them.
Who helps us
- Stripe: payments and receipts.
- Supabase: our database, license server, sign-in and emails.
- Hostinger: hosts this website.
- Meta: advertising measurement, as described above.
Each processes data only to provide its service to us, under its own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
Purchase records: as long as tax law requires. License and activation details: as long as your license exists; you can remove a Mac anytime in My Account. Support emails: up to three years.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it (we keep what tax law makes us keep). Email info@novifs.com. If you’re in the EU, UK or India, you also have the rights your local data protection law gives you, including complaining to your data protection authority.
Cookies
The website stores your cart and currency choice in your browser so they survive a reload. The only third-party cookie is the Meta Pixel’s, described above. Visitors in Europe are asked first; you can clear your choice by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
Children
NoviFS isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top. Big changes will be announced on this page.
