Terms and conditions

The rules for buying and using NoviFS, in plain words.

Last updated 1 November 2026

1. Agreement

By buying or using NoviFS you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use NoviFS. “We” means NoviFS, the seller of the app on novifs.com.

2. Your license

  • A license lets you use NoviFS on as many Macs at the same time as your plan includes (1, 2 or 10), for personal or business use.
  • You can move a license between your own Macs whenever you like.
  • You may not share, resell or publish your license key, or try to get around the license checks. Keys that are shared or abused can be turned off.
  • Without a license, NoviFS works read-only, free of charge.
  • NoviFS is licensed to you, not sold: we keep the rights to the app. You may not copy, modify or reverse-engineer the app, except as the law allows and except for the open-source part described below.

3. Open-source part

NoviFS’s file-system extension includes NTFS-3G and is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. Your rights under the GPL for that part aren’t limited by these terms. Its source code is on the Source code page.

4. Buying

  • Prices are in US dollars. Anything added at checkout is shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe.
  • The price is one-time. There’s no subscription and nothing renews.
  • Your license key is shown right after payment and saved to My Account for your email address.

5. Refunds

You can get a full refund within 14 days of buying. See the refund policy. When a purchase is refunded, its license stops working.

6. Updates and support

Updates to NoviFS are free for license holders for as long as we offer them. Support is by email at info@novifs.com.

7. Your data and your drives

NoviFS changes data on your drives when you ask it to. Always eject a drive before unplugging it, and keep backups of anything important. How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.

8. No warranty

We work hard to make NoviFS reliable, but it’s provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don’t promise it will be error-free or work with every drive or every version of macOS.

9. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for lost data, lost profits or indirect damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for NoviFS. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by contract.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The version that applies is the one in force when you bought, unless you agree to a newer one. Changes will be dated at the top of this page.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in.

12. Contact
